In Depth Interview – Checklist
(This is only a tentative checklist. Objective of the interview is to allow free narration of experiences.)
1. How are you feeling today about the fact that you are being discharged?
2. Tell me about the day you were diagnosed to have Covid-19? How did you feel? What were the main emotions? Fear, Worry, Anger
3. When we told you that you must be admitted to the hospital for isolation for 14 days, what were your first thoughts? What were your concerns?
4. Tell me about the experience of admission. Who came to admit you? Did you come to hospital yourself? What happened at your home when the ambulance came to pick you up? What happened when you came to the hospital?
5. Tell me about your hospital stay and experiences in the hospital.
6. Did you experience any stigma in your family? By family members?
7. Did you or your family members experience any stigma in your neighbourhood? By neighbours?
8. What do you think is the main reasons for the stigma? Fear of disease? Association of disease with bad behaviour? Fear of death? Others fears?
9. How all does the stigma manifest in the neighbourhood? Not talking? Not interacting? Now allowing inside the neighbourhood. Not sharing food. Not walking past house.
10. Now that you are discharged from the hospital, what are your main thoughts? What are your concerns about going back home? What are your worries?
11. Do you think you will be stigmatized when you go back home? Why? What do you anticipate?
