Dr Nithya Gogtay, MBBS (Bom), MD, is currently Additional Professor, Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, India. She also holds Diplomas in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology. She has had special training in Pharmacovigilance (1996, Uppsala, Sweden), Good Clinical Practice (2005 WHO and 2009 from NIH, USA), Malaria genomics (2006, Drexel University, USA) Meta-analysis (2011, SGPGI and NIH, India), statistics (2001-2005, Christian Medical College, Vellore India), and Ethics (2009 Pfizer and 2012, Tata Memorial Center, Mumbai).

Dr Gogtay has been the Editor, Journal of Postgraduate Medicine, a Member, Advisory Board, Journal of the Association of Physicians of India, Co-chairperson, Institutional Review Board, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, and Member, Ethics Committee, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health & Aditya Jyot Eye Center, Mumbai, India. She has authored over 80 research publications in peer reviewed journals, co-authored two books on Research Methodology and statistics (Jaypee Publications). She has research experience of over 17 years, including all phases of clinical trials. This includes Phase 1 studies with antimicrobials, vaccines and monoclonal antibodies as well as proof of concept and Phase III studies with anti malarials and anti-diabetic drugs. She has been part of 25 GCP studies completed to date. She also guides Master’s and Doctoral students.
