A key feature of medical curricula across the world is the interaction of medical students with patients at teaching hospitals. However, patients may not be comfortable engaging with medical students in certain situations, and there are a number of possible reasons for this. Teaching hospitals often overlook the need to take consent for such interactions. Certain measures can be taken to increase the confidence of patients in the medical students treating them.
