Announcement about Maiden Bioethics Essay Competition winners

 

Dr Cheryl Ann Thomas

Dr Cheryl Ann Thomas is the winner under the theme ‘Artificial Intelligence in Health Care: Ethical and Regulatory Challenges’. She is currently a student at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai (Maharashtra, India). She has completed her degree in dentistry (BDS) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bengaluru, worked in Admin at the Mumbai Port Trust Hospital, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) course as part of the 2018-2020 batch. Her current studies have provided Cheryl with an opportunity to explore how healthcare systems work and the challenges that such institutions face, especially in the technologically advanced world we now live in.

 

Dr Migita D’cruz

Dr Migita D’cruz is the Winner under the theme ‘Health Professionals and the Death Penalty: Ethical Obligations and Challenges’. She is presently working as a senior resident and pursuing her doctorate in Geriatric Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore. Originally from Kollam, Kerala. Dr. D’cruz completed her MBBS from Government Stanley Medical College in Chennai and her MD in Psychiatry from at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore.

 

Dr Saibal Das

Dr Saibal Das is the joint winner under the theme ‘Ethical Challenges and Responsibilities in Health Journalism ‘ At present, he is pursuing his DM (Clinical Pharmacology) at JIPMER, Puducherry. He has completed his MBBS from NRS Medical College and Hospital Kolkata and his MD (Pharmacology) from Christian Medical College Vellore.

 

Dr Sayali Tiwari

Dr Sayali Tiwari is the joint winner under the theme ‘Ethical Challenges and Responsibilities in Health Journalism ‘. She is currently working as a Senior Resident in Department of Community Medicine, Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital. She finished her MBBS from Indira Gandhi Government medical College, Nagpur and finished her MD in Community Medicine from Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM Hospital.

 

Dr Sreejith Das

Dr Sreejith Das is the Runners Up for the entry under the theme ‘Artificial Intelligence in Health Care: Ethical and Regulatory Challenges’. He is presently doing post-graduation in public health administration at AIIH&PH, Kolkata. Dr Das received his MBBS from Government Medical College, Thrissur.

 

Sharon Pradeeptha

Sharon Pradeeptha is the Runners Up for the entry under the theme ‘Ethical and Challenges and Responsibilities in Health Journalism’. She currently works at the Christian Medical College, Vellore while completing her internship there. Dr Pradeeptha is a MBBS graduate from the same institution.

 

Dr Kamal Suna

Dr Kamal Suna is the Runner Up for the entry under the theme ‘Health Professionals and the Death Penalty: Ethical Obligations and Challenges’. Dr K. Suna has recently completed his Master in Hospital Administration from TISS, Mumbai. He has completed his MBBS from JNMC, Bhagalpur and has 17 years of work experience.
