Sualeha Siddiq Shekhani

Sualeha Siddiq Shekhani is associated with the Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture at Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT) for the past eleven years. Currently, she is working as an Associate Professor at the Centre. She is a social scientist by training, with an interest in research and global health ethics. She is also currently a member of Pakistan’s National Bioethics Committee for Research (NBC-R), which a central regulatory body for ethics approval in the country. She is involved in teaching the Master’s in Bioethics (MBE) and the postgraduate diploma in biomedical ethics programs at the Centre. She also serves as an academic editor for PLOS Global Public Health.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences from SZABIST (2014), with a major in Psychology. She joined CBEC as a part-timer in March 2015 as a Research Assistant. During this time, she also finished her Master in Health Policy and Management (HPM) from Aga Khan University, Karachi, and her MBE in Bioethics (2019) from the Sindh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Karachi.
