Dr Bevin Vinay Kumar V N obtained his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from Christian Medical College, Vellore. Following this, he worked as a Physiotherapist at Basel Mission Hospital in a rural area of Gadag in North Karnataka from 2009 to 2013. Post that, he pursued a Master’s (MPH, 2015) and PhD (2021) degree in Public Health from Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS), Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum, Kerala. His doctoral research focused on understanding the structural discrimination experienced by Banjaras, a marginalised group in Gadag and its impact on health and healthcare access. He briefly worked with the Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), Delhi as a consultant in a project funded by UNICEF. Dr Bevin is an assistant professor at Azim Premji University. He worked at the Bangalore campus from 2022 to 2023 and joined the Bhopal campus from July 2023. He currently teaches evidence for public health action, applied epidemiology and Biostatistics at the university. He has experience designing and conducting mixed-methods research and analysing large-scale survey data.

His research interests are exploring health outcomes and healthcare access using an equity lens, measuring inequality at the subgroup level, unravelling health inequities using an intersectional approach and health systems.
