Objectives

  • Gain understanding of the recently concluded multi-country “World Brain Death project” and its  impact on organ donation.
  • Get an overview on how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the organ donation and transplantation in India, its impact on the health of organ failure patients, recipients and transplant coordinators
  • Initiate discussion on common ethical dilemmas in the field of organ donation in India with special reference to organ allocation
  • Enthuse the Transplant coordinators by giving living examples of “Women in Transplantation”.

 

Target audience

This conference is intended for transplant coordinators across India, most of whom are medical social workers, nurses and a few doctors. This is the 13th edition of the conference and about 100 delegates are expected.

 

Description

This time the conference shall focus on these main issues - The World Brain Death Project; Impact of COVID-19 on the life of patients, recipients, transplant coordinators, working of NGOs; ethical issues in organ allocation and highlight some of the success stories on Women in Transplant.
