Dr Subrata Chattopadhyay is Founder-Head and Professor of Physiology at the College of Medicine and Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital, the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, India.

He passed Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics programme from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), St. Radboud University (the Netherlands), and University of Padova (Italy) magna cum laude in 2007. Earlier he completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical studies in India and pursued doctoral and postdoctoral research in the US.

His current research interests include, among others, spirituality and ethics in medicine and cross-cultural bioethics.
